Black Bookstore Day falls on Saturday, August 29th, and we are thrilled to invite you to join us at Two Locals Brewing for a vibrant celebration. This event is not just about books; it’s a gathering that blends the joy of reading with community engagement. Our collaboration with the esteemed black-owned mobile bookstore, L.I.A. Booktique, sets the stage for an enriching experience. To add to the excitement, we are honored to host the acclaimed local YA author, *Brittney Morris*, the creative mind behind the captivating novel *SLAY*.

Book Swap Details:
To join the book swap:

  • Bring up to 10 gently used adult and children’s books
  • Recommended genres: recent fiction, engaging non-fiction, or cherished classics
  • Avoid bringing reference books, textbooks, or damaged items
  • Connect with the event host upon arrival
  • Lay out your books for browsing
  • Select up to four new books to take home
  • Explore our ‘Blind Date With a Book’ selection for a surprise read

Community Support:

  • Kids participate in the swap for free
  • Consider donating a new children’s book to support WePAC, our non-profit partner
  • WePAC aids in reviving school libraries and fostering a love for reading among West Philadelphia’s youth
  • Unsold books contribute to WePAC’s initiatives or future swaps
