Hailing from Oakland, the talented DJ and live wind instrumentalist, MAYVN (he/him), curates transcendental dance experiences by blending live clarinet and saxophone into his sets. His name, derived from Hebrew meaning “one who listens,” encapsulates the essence of his craft — each performance is an interactive journey shaped by the collective energy of the audience.
A Fusion of Musical Influences
Drawing from his background in conservatory training at the Eastman School of Music and his expertise in ethnomusicology, MAYVN artfully integrates rhythms and melodies from various cultural heritages. His soundscapes resonate with influences from Turkish, Balkan, Cumbia, Assyrian, and Punjabi traditions, creating a tapestry of immersive and diverse musical experiences.

MAYVN has graced the stages of esteemed festivals such as Envision, Lightning in a Bottle, and Electric Forest, showcasing his talent as a DJ and live instrumentalist. Noteworthy performances include appearances at Paradise Music Festival in Canada and Red Rocks Amphitheater, Coachella, and Shambhala while touring with Balkan Bump. His sets are a fusion of melodic downtempo, organic house, global bass, and desert beats, enhanced by his improvisational live clarinet and saxophone performances that add a dynamic and rhythmic dimension to his music.
