Class Description
Are you searching for a vibrant and engaging salsa class focused on fun and social connection rather than competition? Dive into our Level 1 salsa course, designed for absolute beginners looking to embark on a dance journey from the ground up. This course offers a solid foundation for social dancing, incorporating elements of Cuban style Rueda and foundational Los Angeles salsa techniques. The primary goal is to establish a strong lead and follow dynamic, empowering you to improvise seamlessly while your partner follows suit. Perfect for both couples and singles seeking to explore the world of salsa dancing.
Registration and Partners
For solo attendees, we recommend securing your spot early to allow us ample time to pair you with a suitable dance partner for the class. While we strive to accommodate makeup classes if requested before the course commences, availability may vary. In cases requiring a complete transfer to a future session, a nominal fee of $20 per person applies.
Drop-In and Attire
Curious about salsa but not ready to commit to the full series? Experience a trial drop-in session during the initial class of the beginner Level 1 series. The cost is $52.50 per couple, tax included, for a 90-minute session. Please note that drop-ins are subject to availability, with priority given to couples enrolled in the entire 4-week program. When it comes to footwear, we recommend dance shoes for optimal performance, including Latin heels for women and jazz sneakers or slippers for men. Avoid outdoor shoes, stilettos, or shoes with marking soles to ensure a smooth dance experience.
Dress Code and Safety Measures
There are no strict clothing requirements, as long as your attire allows for freedom of movement, particularly in the legs. Participants often opt for office business casual outfits. Mask-wearing is currently optional, depending on provincial or municipal regulations, which will be updated regularly in alignment with each class session.
