At Lake Phalen Rowing, we offer a gateway to the world of competitive rowing for Olympians, collegiate athletes, and high school students alike. Our rowing camps serve as a beacon of opportunity for youths entering grades 7-12, presenting an ideal platform to not only embrace a new sport but also forge lasting connections with peers hailing from various corners of the metropolitan area.
Camp Experience & Features:
- Immersive Learning: Our 4-day summer camp immerses participants in a comprehensive 8-hour training regimen that encompasses both theoretical groundwork and practical application.
- Expert Guidance: Camp attendees have the unique privilege of training alongside and learning from some of the most accomplished young rowers in the nation.
- Skills Development: Participants receive expert instruction covering the foundational aspects of the rowing stroke and essential techniques for managing rowing equipment effectively.
- Recognition & Beyond: Upon successful completion of the camp, rowers earn a prestigious Lake Phalen Rowing shirt and gain the opportunity to transition into our esteemed USRowing National Championship-winning team, renowned on a national scale.
- Prerequisites: To ensure safety and eligibility, participants must demonstrate swimming ability and the capability to lift 30 pounds overhead. Rest assured, life jackets are provided for added safety.
Camp Details:
- Date & Timing: July 27-30, Monday to Thursday, from 8-10 am.
- Location: Lake Phalen, offering serene waters conducive to learning and practicing rowing skills.
- Registration: Given the limited capacity of our camp, early registration is strongly advised to secure a spot in this enriching experience.
